MSP Student Petition Form

This form is for:
- MSP majors/minors requesting an exception to an MSP curricular requirement
This form is not for: (The first 3 below are managed by Klein Advising: advise@temple.edu)
- Students requesting an exception to a Core, Gen Ed, or University-wide curricular requirement
- Students requesting to register for more than 18 credits for the term
- Transfer students requesting a registration/pre-req. override for transfer courses that, after initial admission, were permitted to count for a particular Klein course. (Complete Advising’s Transfer Override Form prior to registration.)
- Graduate student’s registration needs (See the Klein Graduate Office.)
- Students requesting a capacity override for a closed MSP course (Email the instructor directly. If approved, he/she will email the MSP department who will perform the registration override and send a confirmation email to the student.)

Type A: Course Equivalency/Category Satisfaction Review Request
- Check this box if one of the following applies:
Course Request: have a non-MSP or non-Temple/transfer course count as a specific MSP major/minor requirement course – including Study Away courses. (Example: allowing JRN 1111 to count for MSP 1021 - requesting a course to course match up)

AND/OR

Category/track Request: have an MSP/non-MSP or non-Temple/transfer course count toward a specific MSP major/minor category/track, for which it is not normally – including Study Away courses. (Example: allowing a course that is not listed as MSP Media Critical Topics course to apply to that category)
Type B: Course Requirement Override Request
- Check this box if the following applies:
Request to have a pre-requisite, co-requisite, or any other restriction waived in order to allow registration into a specific MSP course. (In such cases, we often consult with the instructor, which may add a slight delay.)
